The 70s.......

Saturday night was not a good night for watching tv. There was really nothing exciting. While flipping the channel, I saw a PBS special "The Superstars of the 70s| and it was hosted by Patti Labelle.

I started to watch it and it brought back lots of memories of songs I have not heard in a while but were really good songs.

Monday would be a confusing night time tv watching for me. I watch The Voice and now Dancing with the Stars has also started. Last Monday I was flipping the channel to both these shows as they were on at the same time. I did not want to watch the later showing of either shows as it would be too late for me.

For the last three weeks I have been in a quest for anything ladybug. It is not the easiest to find item. Luckily, I found a few items last Saturday when I went for a walk. I will look for some again this weekend and a friend just told me, she saw lady bug items at London Drugs so I will be headed that way this week.

What is cooking/baking?.....

I was not in a cooking or baking mood this weekend but still managed to cook/bake/made a few things.

It seems like every other weekend I bake banana bread and always I forget to take a picture. So it is not a surprise that I baked one and forgot to take a picture again. I believe I have a picture taken a while back.
I always have left over bananas and it is the easiest thing to do.

I baked a fish as well, in fact it was a whole fish and also forgot to take a picture. I always remember after I have taken a piece of it to eat.

Anyway, I was at T&T and bought seafood there and some other items I fancy at the moment.

Corn muffins, not the best recipe I followed so I won't post the recipe.

I had too many lemons so I decided to make lemonade. I had frozen raspberries so I put them in the pitcher and zest of one lemon. It turned out like pink lemonade and it was good and refreshing. I will be making lots of this during the summer.

I love these mangoes, it reminds me of the kind we have in the Philippines. I eat them as my dessert.

I love these jelly pudding, mini version, these are strawberry, mango, cantaloupe and lychee. I have them as snack at work, my jello shooters of a different kind.











White fluffy stuff.......

Ahhh, yes the nasty white stuff came down with a vengeance yesterday. After I had looked out my balcony the day before and noticed that the snow was almost gone on the golf course.

I had also just washed my vehicle on Tuesday afternoon. A bummer!!!

At least it is Friday and looking forward to two days of relaxation.

I am going out with a friend tonight to look for lady bug stuff. Hopefully we will find them. Or it will be ordering on line, I found a lady bug gift store. I hope they can deliver/mail direct to the recipient instead of shipping it to me and then I have to mail it.

First day of spring.....

Today is the first day of spring. Yes, it is a bit early,maybe because it is leap year or what other stuff makes it early this year.

Spring which means spring cleaning, time to start thinking of gardening, warm weather ahead and the time before summer.

I have started an early spring clean up and also doing a bit of changing in my bedroom. Saturday I went shopping with a friend looking for stuff for the new decor. My bedroom's colour has been white and black and I did not want to do a big make over so I just wanted to add another colour that would give it some kind of a POP. I was debating between yellow and red.

While shopping at IKEA, I did not see a lot of yellow items and so I decided to do it with red. Of course, I have set a budget to do it. I have spent $100.00 and I only need a few more items and I should be done. Little things here and there.

Let us enjoy warm weather and welcome spring. I hope that means no more of that dreary white fluffy stuff.



No cell phone for a week.....

Two weeks ago, I went shopping with friends and on my way home with one of them, my phone fell out of my purse and onto the floor of the vehicle.

I did not realize it until the afternoon of the next day. I knew where the phone could be and so I called her and left her a message about it. I knew the phone would be ok except that it would be dead and people who call me on my cell would wonder why I was not answering.

So when I told some that I was without a cell phone for a week, they were shocked. One said she would have died and another said she could not function. Honestly, it did not bother me at all. It was a nice break and I don't really give out my cell phone number to a lot of people. So for you people who have my cell phone number, consider yourselves lucky!!

 I can't see myself texting while I am walking or checking my phone while in a store. To me, it is a tool I can use in case of emergency. Besides, I hate texting. Mavbe I am just different, that is why I do not have Iphone, instead I have a Galaxy Nexus.

There are more important things in life. 

What's cooking/baking?

I have not posted about cooking or baking lately. I have some pictures and also will post the recipes of what I have baked or cooked lately.

I will try to keep up with the recipes as I have been really busy lately.

Apple crisp. I apologize for the caramel on the edge. It would not look the same if I transfer it to a serving plate.

Cassava cake, by the time I remember to take picture I have tried it as I wanted to check, I had brought half of the cake to work.

Lemon loaf, I remember my dad loved this loaf with lots of lemon glaze.

Singapore noodles, a favorite at both work places.

More next time. I will be busy getting the recipes on my Recipes page which is on the right top side of my blog.

Friday night out......

As previously posted, I did not have plans for the weekend. But at work Y had asked what we are going to do so we called C to find out if we should go out after work.

Well, we decided to go out and had such fun shopping and trying on clothes. Unfortunately, nothing really fits well so I ended up buying just personal items...on sale of course!

We passed by T&T store to get ingredients for dessert C would like to try. Then on to bubble tea and we tried different flavours. We passed by Bed, Bath and Beyond so I could show them what decor I would do for my bedroom and now I have a bit more ideas.

Finally, time to eat and C and I had teriyaki bowls and Y had some crepes. On to more shopping, next time it would have to be a day thing so we have more time.

Now, I have started baking and will try and take pictures and post the recipes on my recipe page.


The weather is nice/warm and I should be walking and get a few baking stuff.

Friday, also was the last day of a young guy at my work and it was sad to see him leave but it is for better opportunities and I am pretty sure he will do well. What a really nice young man!!!
